How we Deliver Funding to Parents & Carers
We have several models of delivery for funding, as there are a variety of ways in which the funding can be allocated per child, depending on the hours that the child attends, whether they are term time only and how much funding each family is entitled to claim (and chooses to use).
Please bear in mind the following principles on which we will allocate the funding for your child and please do ask if you have any queries - it is a complicated business.
Any session completely covered by funded hours does not include a meal, as these are not included in the funding. All meals will be charged at 2.50 per meal (lunch or tea).
Parents are welcome to provide a packed lunch / tea as an alternative. We politely request that packed meals be balanced and healthy; they must not contain chocolate or fizzy drinks. We can store packed meals in a fridge if preferred but we are unable to heat packed meals for children.
Please ensure you notify us before funding is due to start if you wish to provide a packed meal for your child, otherwise meals will be added to your invoice.
Children who receive Early Years Entitlement or Two Year Funding who attend during Term Time Only will receive up to 15 hours of fully funded sessions (not including meals). Funded sessions will be clearly labelled as such on your invoice.
Children who attend All Year Around will receive up to 11 hours per week if they receive just Universal Funding and up to 22 hours per week for those receiving Extended Hours + Universal Funding. Any additional hours required will be charged at the standard hourly rate (stated above). Meals on fully funded days are still chargeable at the standard rates (stated above). Funded hours will be indicated as such on the your invoice.
If children attend for less than 15 hours per week, or share their funding between 2 settings they will see their hours with us adjusted accordingly.
Children who attend All Year Around are entitled to 2 weeks holiday per year, one of which is to be taken at Christmas, and one to be taken at your leisure.
Holiday runs from September to August. We require a months notice of when you would like to take your holiday entitlement. All other holidays must be paid for. Unused holiday cannot be carried forward to the following year.
Even though we are entitled to, we do not choose to charge for any of the following: wet wipes, snacks, breakfasts, drinks, extracurricular activities such as Tatty Bumpkin Yoga, Zoo Lab, French and Spanish, Singing Sessions or Dancing Kate.
How to Claim Funding
For us to claim the funding for your child, the following information is needed at the time of registration:
Child’s legal documentation (birth certificate or passport)
A completed registration form
EYE funding parent declaration form - completed every term and signed by parent.
Extended funding must be applied for by you through Childcare Services and, once you have been approved, you will be issued with a unique reference number. You should pass this number, along with your National Insurance Number to us and we can then access the additional funding.
Please note, you are required to reconfirm your eligibility every three months and failure to do so will result in the loss of funding. In this case, parents/carers will be charged at the standard rate for sessions. You will be sent auto-reminders by the government service.
Funding should be applied for in advance - after the child has turned 3 but before the commencement of the term in which you expect funding to be applied. For example, if your child turns 3 in September, you will be entitled to funding from the start of term in January, you should therefore apply for funding in October/November time.
